Peer Review

PEER REVIEW PROCEDURE

All manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board for publication in the journal undergo a peer review process aimed at providing an objective evaluation of the content, determining the compliance of the materials with the journal’s scope and requirements, and assessing their scientific quality.

Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their articles and for the fact of their publication.

Manuscript Review Procedure

Manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board via the journal’s website or email are initially screened for compliance with the journal’s scientific profile and thematic areas.

Manuscripts must comply with the journal’s formatting requirements and undergo mandatory plagiarism screening. Submissions that do not correspond to the journal’s scope, fail to meet formatting requirements, or contain signs of plagiarism are not accepted for further consideration. The Editorial Board informs authors of the decision regarding acceptance for review or rejection within 5 working days.

All manuscripts are subject to peer review. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process, in which neither reviewers nor authors are aware of each other’s identities. For this purpose, all identifying information about authors, their affiliations, and reviewers is removed from the manuscripts and file names prior to review. Only manuscripts that receive positive reviews are accepted for publication.

Peer review is conducted by leading Ukrainian and international scholars in relevant fields of knowledge who have expertise in environmental education, environmental psychology, environmental issues, sustainable natural resource management, and environmental monitoring.

Review Criteria

Manuscripts are evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • relevance to the journal’s scope;
  • clarity and quality of presentation;
  • scientific significance of the study;
  • originality and scientific novelty;
  • clarity of research objectives and tasks;
  • completeness of the methodology description;
  • validity and interpretation of experimental data;
  • soundness of conclusions;
  • relevance and timeliness of cited sources;
  • accuracy of citations.

Editorial Decisions and Revision Process

The Editorial Board provides authors with reviewers’ comments and recommendations for revision or a reasoned rejection.

If revisions are recommended, authors may either address the comments in a revised manuscript or provide justified arguments for not implementing specific suggestions. Revised manuscripts are subject to re-review.

The date of recommendation for publication is considered to be the date when the Editorial Board receives a positive review confirming the suitability of the manuscript for publication.

Literary and technical editing of the manuscript is carried out only after a positive peer review decision.

Grounds for Rejection

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject a manuscript in the following cases:

  • receipt of two negative reviews;
  • detection of plagiarism;
  • failure of the author(s) to comply with the journal’s formatting requirements;
  • inability or unwillingness to address reviewers’ comments or provide justified responses.

Final Approval

The recommendation for publication of each journal issue (including its content) is approved by the Academic Council of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University and documented in the official minutes.
