The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of the development of rhythmic abilities of percussion instrument students. It is determined that the globalization events of modern times require higher education institutions to train a new type of individual, a creative personality. It is found that rhythm has been studied by many theorists, musicologists (E. Kurt, F. Kolesa, K. Kvitka, G. Riemann, P. Sokalsky, K. Stockhausen, etc.), teachers (E. Jacques-Dalcroze, K. Orff, etc.). It is emphasized that rhythm for percussion instrument students allows to reveal the depth and multidimensionality of the image of a musical work. It is determined that the development of rhythmic abilities of percussion instrument students should be gradual, systematic, take into account the level of their training and technical capabilities. The following groups of rhythmic abilities are distinguished: a sense of metric pulsation, rhythm, tempo, the use of rhythmic sensations in the process of interpreting a composition. It is emphasized that rhythm, tempo are means of musical expressiveness, without which it is impossible to convey the author's intention, to reveal the artistic image. It is determined that quite often students of the percussion instrument class have problems with maintaining a single tempo during the performance of a musical composition. The basis of rhythmic abilities is considered to be the artistic thinking of the student of education, their sense of time, the tempo rhythm of a musical work. It is emphasized that rhythmic abilities are based on the awareness of a musical work from the position of a temporal phenomenon, rhythmic literacy, which involves knowledge of the features of different rhythmic groups, technical mastery of the instrument. The following methods of developing rhythmic abilities are proposed: repetition of rhythms using different techniques, performance of rhythmic patterns of varying complexity, analysis of rhythmic scores, timing and conducting of a work with verbal visualization of the text. It is determined that the development of rhythmic abilities of students of the percussion instrument class is an important component of their performing training.References
