DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF MUSEUMS AS AN INNOVATIVE METHOD OF PRESERVING AND PROMOTING THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL TRENDS

Abstract

Ukraine in the context of contemporary global challenges. Theoretical and practical aspects of implementing digital technologies in museum affairs, especially during wartime, are revealed.

The evolution of the concept of cultural heritage, including material and intangible components of cultural heritage, is analyzed. International standards of museum digitalization, particularly UNESCO and European Union initiatives, are investigated.

Key methods of digital documentation of cultural values are defined: high-quality photo fixation, 3D scanning, photogrammetry, laser scanning of architectural monuments, creation of digital models and reconstructions. Particular attention is paid to the concept of a «digital twin» as a tool for preserving cultural heritage.

The transformation of Ukrainian museum affairs from traditional institutions to modern digital platforms of cultural exchange is explored. The potential of virtual museums, online exhibitions, and digital archives in ensuring wide access to cultural values is considered.

The significance of studying the discipline «Cultural Heritage of Ukraine and the World» is emphasized for forming young people's deep awareness of cultural identity. Its role in preparing specialists capable of presenting Ukrainian culture at a global level, implementing cultural diplomacy, and countering information threats is determined.

The historical development of Ukraine's museum network, comprising over 1,500 state and communal museums of various profiles, is analyzed. The evolution of museum affairs from the first archaeological museums of the 19th century to modern digital cultural exchange platforms is demonstrated.

The strategic importance of digital transformation as a tool of cultural resistance, preservation of national identity, and ensuring global communication of cultural values during war is revealed.
