The article is devoted to the analysis of the role of color as a semiotic code in the television adaptations of Liane Moriarty's bestsellers "Big Little Lies" and "Apples Never Fall". The study was conducted within the framework of intersemiotic translation - the transition from verbal text to audiovisual media - with an emphasis on color as a means of conveying meaning. The paper examines the emotional, symbolic, and plot-compositional functions of color in both series. It analyzes the emotions and moods created by the color scheme of the frame, the symbolic meanings that certain colors acquire in connection with characters and themes, and how color helps to structurally organize the narrative on screen. A comparison of the semantics of color in the original literary sources and their screen versions is made. Based on the theory of film semiotics and adaptation, the article emphasizes that color in HBO and Peacock series acts as an important intersemiotic code that transmits hidden meanings and enhances dramatic effect. It is concluded that a careful decoding of color choices allows for a deeper understanding of the interpretation of Moriarty's works on screen and the interaction of the visual language of cinema with the textual narrative.References
