The article examines the problems of using multimedia as a tool for activating the cognitive activity of secondary school students. It has been established that the purpose of a multimedia lesson for the development of students’ cognitive abilities is as follows: studying new material, selecting and presenting new information; consolidating acquired knowledge, practicing subject competencies; repeating, practical application of acquired knowledge and formed abilities; generalizing, systematizing knowledge. To enhance the cognitive effect of the lesson, the teacher should focus students’ attention on the tasks of the deformed lesson. For this, the teacher selects the necessary forms and methods of conducting the lesson, educational technologies, pedagogical techniques.References
