Abstract

The article reveals the role of the orchestral ensemble as a key component of the professional development of an instrumental musician. The relevance of the study lies in adapting modern requirements for instrumental musicians, which is a reflection of constant changes in artistic education. The above applies not only to the technical perfection of performing musical works, but also to the ability to quickly integrate into a creative team. In this work, the orchestra is positioned as an educational environment in which instrumental musicians can apply theoretical knowledge in practical activities. The article pays special attention to the historical aspect of the orchestral ensemble, namely, tracing its evolutionary changes from the times of antiquity, baroque, classicism, romanticism to the present day. The work indicates that each era put forward new requirements for performing skills. In the context of professional training of an instrumental musician, the key performing skills necessary for successful orchestral playing are highlighted. The role of rhythmic accuracy in the context of orchestral playing is substantiated. In particular, it is determined that the sense of tempo and rhythm is one of the key elements necessary for orchestral playing. The article also notes the importance of orchestral practice for the development of hearing, the ability to play in balance for the harmonious sound of the orchestral ensemble. The authors emphasize the importance of timbre coherence and understanding of the hierarchy in orchestral sound. The article determines that the role of the orchestral ensemble is not only in the performing aspect, but also acts as a psychological and pedagogical space that contributes to the development of critical thinking, communication skills, as well as the development of emotional intelligence of professional instrumental musicians. In the work, the authors draw attention to the creation of a favorable environment for musicians, and also emphasize the importance of selecting a high-quality repertoire, which in turn allows for the maximum disclosure of the creative potential of each performer in the orchestral ensemble.
