The presented study defines the content of the concept of “adolescents’ emotional intelligence”, which is interpreted as a complex personal cognitive-emotional characteristic capable of influencing human behavioral functions and regulating, at the intellectual and affective levels, various communicative manifestations of individuals as subjects of interaction. Importance is attached to this provision in the context of the manifestations of adolescents’ emotional intelligence. The content of the methodological components and their essence regarding the development of adolescents’ emotional intelligence are revealed, and appropriate support through the means of musical art in the process of music education, particularly through engagement with its masterpieces, is proposed. This idea gains special significance from the standpoint of the present research concerning emotional intelligence and its manifestations in adolescents. The following methodological components are proposed: scientific approaches (gnoseological, psycho-resonant, personality-centered, and intellectual-creative); a range of corresponding fundamental principles (musical-auditory activity, reflective perception, emotional-semantic adequacy, and independence of creative musical thinking); and substantiated pedagogical conditions (facilitating practical reflection on the positive emotional impact of masterpieces of world classical music during their perception and study; stimulating adolescents’ need to analyze and discuss musical masterpieces while expressing their own emotional responses in communication with peers; orienting adolescents towards attempts at imaginative transfer of elements of composers’ emotional and artistic-aesthetic intentions into situations of their own lives for the purpose of adequate reflection and the ability to focus on possible real emotions), all of which contribute to the effective development of adolescents’ emotional intelligence. The study envisages revealing the potential for developing certain components of adolescents’ emotional intelligence by means of musical art. Practical recommendations are provided concerning the positive impact of the proposed musical works and their application in music education. The prospects for using the resources of Romantic music to acquire relevant experience in deepening adolescents’ emotional intelligence are also outlined.References
