Abstract

A detailed analysis of 19th-century documents discovered in our own archives and the source collection of the Tulchyn Local History Museum has enabled the identification of the evolution of cultural paradigms in the region. This analysis has revealed significant developments in musical and theatrical culture within the Tulchyn area. In the context of social and cultural changes in Podillia, the historical development of musical and theatrical life in Tulchyn (in the 19th century) was clarified, which influenced the pedagogical innovations of M.D. Leontovich. A thorough analysis of the historical and spiritual substance of the city was conducted, which facilitated the identification of the distinctive local characteristics of theatrical life in the Tulchyn region during this era. These characteristics exerted a significant influence on the subsequent innovative theatrical endeavours of the musicians. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the study of the fact that, starting from the end of the 18th century, Tulchyn became the main generator of Polish cultural life in Podillia, in which theatre played an important historical role in the further pedagogical and theatrical development of education (through the prism of the functioning of theatre groups) and influenced the constructive techniques of M.D. Leontovich, which contributed to a comprehensive rethinking of the role of theatricalization in the educational process as the overarching task of Ukrainian art and its aesthetic influence on society.
