The Podillian Word of Anatolii Podolynnyi (A Poetic Review of the Author’s Books)

Abstract

The study, bearing the expressive and programmatic title The Podillian Word of Anatolii Podolynnyi (A Poetic Review of the Author’s Books), offers a literary-critical analysis of the multifaceted oeuvre of Anatolii Podolynnyi, with particular attention to his poetic and scholarly reference works, which together shape the phenomenon of the so-called “Podillian word” as a distinct school of belletristic writing. On a conceptual level, the research thoroughly examines the interconnections between the geographical and cultural dimensions of contemporary Podillia, especially the Vinnytsia region, and the author’s poetics. Drawing on a wide range of sources, the article outlines the key themes, motifs, stylistic features, and the significance of Anatolii Podolynnyi’s creative work for the contemporary Ukrainian literary process, as well as the importance of his legacy as a literary scholar for the development of literary studies in Ukraine and beyond. The study presents a comprehensive overview of the most important editions of the author’s works within the context of the development of Ukrainian literature in the twenty-first century and proposes perspectives for further scholarly exploration of his substantial creative heritage.
